Camps
Each summer the Romney Marsh Pony Club hold summer camps for all ages… This is often the highlight of the year and gives the children a real great opportunity to really bond with their ponies and friends.
Mini Camp – up to 8 years
From 2021 Mini Camp is being revamped, it will be held at Delmonden over three days, for any children up to the age of 8, but we are flexible if they are not quite ready for Junior camp yet.
It will be run much more like our Junior and Senior camps, with t-shirts and bbq’s and lots of fun and games, but the ponies and riders go home each night. I’ts a great introduction to all the disciplines and really helps the kids progress.
Junior Camp – 8 to 12 years
Junior Camp is held over three days and the kids get to camp out with their ponies, as with Mini Camp they get to practice all the disciplines with an instructor, then they have lots of fun in the evening after they have taken care of their ponies and cleaned their tack, parents are invited back for the night to camp with their children.
This is aimed at 8 to 12 years, but we would encourage the confident 12 years olds to head to Senior Camp, as this will be aimed at the younger children.
Senior Camp – 12 – 18yrs
Senior Camp is held over four days, this is for 12 – 18yrs, they get to stay away with their horses or ponies alone and practice their Disciplines, Stable Management and normally a Competition.
They will be put in to groups according to their ability. The Horses and Ponies are provided with a stable, but kids have to camp.
