Class 1 – Up to 60cms Individuals (with water alternative) – Entry fee £30

Class 2 – 70cms Pairs – Entry fee per pair £40

Class 3 – 70cms Individual – Entry fee £30

Class 4 – 80cms Pairs – Entry fee per pair £40

Class 5 – 80cms Individuals – Entry fee £30

Class 6 – 90cms Individuals – Entry fee £30

All entry fees include first aid cover.

Tack check – please ensure that your hat has the current PC/BRC/BE tag. If not, the Secretary will be able to check it for you and tag if it’s the correct standard. No ill fitting or dangerous tack will be allowed.

Scoring – based on PC Eventing Rules 2022 (XC Phase). Closest to the Optimum time with least penalties wins. Optimum times – 60cm to 80cm 435mpm and 90cm 450mpm. Course lengths will be available on course walk/competition day.

For the pairs timing will commence when the 1st pair goes through the start and stop when the 2nd pair goes through the finish.

Prizes – rosettes 1st to 10th in each class and Clear Round rosettes for any unplaced clears in the 60cm class.

Number bibs need to be worn. Numbers will not be provided so you need to print your own on A4 paper. There is a template on the Horse Events website. Some new/secondhand number bibs will be available for sale on the day.

Course walk – will be on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm (use main XC course entrance at BN27 4RZ), or prior to your class on Sunday (be aware of horses using the course at the time).

Assistance – is only allowed in the 60cm class and verbal encouragement only. No assistance (verbal or otherwise) is allowed in the other classes.

Eliminations – after 3 refusals at one fence or 4th refusal over the whole course. Dangerous riding will also incur elimination. You will be expected to walk off of the course if you are unfortunately eliminated.

Jump Judges – all riders/spectators must obey any instructions given by the Jump Judges. This is for your safety and that of other competitors/spectators.

Horse/Rider changes – If you would like to edit your horse or rider details, before the closing date of the event, please login to your Horse Events account and edit your booking under the ‘MY BOOKING’ Tab.

If you would like to change the class please email and if there is space available we will do this for you.

No horse/rider changes will be accepted that have not gone through Horse Events, prior to the closing date, or through the Secretary, after the closing date.

COVID – please abide by the relevant COVID rules on the day of competition. Do not congregate in large groups. Use sanitiser when possible, especially when using the toilet facilities.

Clear up – please clear up after your horse/dog and take all rubbish home with you.


  1. All riders MUST wear protective hats to Pony Club standards at all times when mounted. Body protectors must be worn. Please see the current hat/body protector rules on the Pony Club website—
  2. The Judge’s decision is final.
  3. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the pony club, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses , owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence , breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
  4. The organisers reserve the right to cancel and alter classes, refuse entries without explanation and to disqualify competitors.
  5. No entry money will be refunded after times are published without a Vet/Doctor’s certificate.
  6. No entry will be accepted without the appropriate fee.
  7. Objection may be raised within 15 minutes of the incident, in writing, accompanied by a deposit of £10, returnable if the objection is upheld.
  8. ALL dogs must be on a short lead. No dogs on the course walk..
  9. All horses/ponies must be 4yrs old or over on the day of the event.
  10. No horse or pony to be tied to a trailer or lorry unattended.


The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measure to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and MUST obey the instructions of the organisers and all the official stewards.
